Generation Labels

Millennials. Gen Z. Snake People.

I see labels as a shorthand for some similarities, such as demographics.

But I don't think they are very helpful beyond that.

It is silly to think everyone in a large group is similar, or to stereotype against a generation.

Each generation is simply the next generation.

They are seeking (and building) better standards.

Better workplace environments. Better benefits.

They want to do good work for managers who will develop them.

Share guidance. Take the time of day.

Give them the benefit of the doubt.

Actually care.

Provide safe space for failure (learning).

Celebrate team wins.

I believe that the next generation will always want things to be better than they were before.
